Throughout my time at the University of West Florida, I’ve actively participated in professional engineering organizations that promote collaboration, leadership, and career development within the STEM community. My involvement has provided valuable experience in networking, event organization, and professional outreach.
Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)
Position: Chapter President
Term: January 2024 – Present
As president of the UWF chapter, I led the development of a student branch to connect students with defense, civil, and environmental engineering professionals. Responsibilities included coordinating guest speakers, managing partnerships with local SAME posts, leading five officers, attending monthly professional meetings, and organizing volunteer and outreach initiatives for campus events.
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)
Position: Officer of Professional Relations
Term: Summer 2024 – Summer 2025
Served as the primary liaison between students and industry professionals, organizing speaker sessions, company tours, and career development events. Contributed to the AIAA Design Build Fly team and helped strengthen collaboration between AIAA and UWF’s mechanical engineering department.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Member
Participated in chapter meetings, technical workshops, and student design competitions to enhance professional growth and stay connected with advancements in mechanical engineering and related technologies.

SAME Small Business Conference & Student Leadership Summit

Year: 2024
Recognition: Awarded a scholarship to attend as a student representative of the University of West Florida SAME Chapter.
Selected to participate in the SAME Student Leadership Conference held prior to the national Small Business Conference. Represented UWF in networking sessions and leadership workshops with military, government, and private-sector engineers. Participated in discussions focused on defense contracting, infrastructure development, and innovation within the engineering community.
AIAA Research & Professional Development Conference
Location: NASA Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida
Year: 2024
Attended the AIAA Research and Professional Development Conference at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center as part of the University of West Florida’s AIAA chapter. Engaged with aerospace researchers and engineers in technical sessions on propulsion, flight dynamics, and systems engineering. Gained insight into active NASA research initiatives and networked with industry professionals and student design teams from across the Southeast region.
